Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported passing than Apple experimented with "a new way of loading" the iPhone of 2012. As our readers, our thoughts went instantly to a kind of mechanism to charge wireless.
Of course, accusing wireless not a new technology that current implementations of it have been somewhat limited. The original Palm pre launched with an induction charger which allows users to pay their device when it is placed on a special carpet of pricing. Disadvantages of these inductive Chargers is the need of physical contact to ensure that the power to be transferred and heat/power limits.

A start-up of 2007 called Witricity, however, worked on a few significant advances in electricity which gained the attention of a large part of the industry, including Apple wireless. Witricity is based on the research from the lab of MIT, where scientists have demonstrated a new method for the transfer of large amounts of power wireless distances more practical than the traditional induction (up to a few metres).
The magnetic fields of two devices well designed with frequencies of resonance closely matched can couple in a single continuous magnetic field. Prof. Solja? I? "the s team showed how to use this phenomenon to allow the transfer of power to a device on a remote beach which is useful for real-world applications and high efficiency.
Witricity has already received a significant amount of attention from the industry. The CEO of Witricity demoed the technology at the TED Conference in 2009. Intel has been experimenting with the technology in their laboratories. Toyota has even has collaborated with and has invested in the company to develop motor loading wireless systems.
The link to Apple just by an international patent application Apple called "Use of the power wireless in a local computer environment." The application was published in May of this year and specifically details the same resonance technology and refers to the original article published by researchers MIT.
Apple describes a scenario where your iMac may be the source of this power of resonance to provide a virtual loading area of your computer. Keyboards, mice and even mobile electronic devices like the iPhone or iPad could be charged be simply being in a proximity of 1 metre on your computer. Typically Apple, they describe that "to get rid of awkward and boring cables and by eliminating the need to replace batteries, an effective and easy to use local computing environment can be provided to the user."
Technology is safe, based on magnetic fields. Witricity CEO is seen with technology at the TED 2009 and even shows wireless power a modified Apple iPhone.
Of course, the Apple patent applications are only occasionally predictive of the plans of the company, but in light of rumors of Apple experience "a new way of loading", we thought that this technology (which is already on the radar of Apple) was interesting enough to highlight.
